A single individual from Sudbury is reported to have conducted fifteen robberies across various businesses within a single month, according to the authorities.

In a series of commercial break-ins that occurred in New Sudbury and the South End over the past month, a 58-year-old man from Greater Sudbury has been arrested and charged.

The suspect was taken into custody on Notre Dame Avenue on August 28. According to a news release issued by Sudbury police on Friday, the individual is facing charges for 15 counts of break-and-enter offences.

The commercial break-ins began on July 23, with the last one taking place on August 27. The suspect gained access to the cash register in each instance and stole money from the till. The businesses were robbed of at least a few thousand dollars in total.

In addition to the break-in charges, the suspect is also charged with two counts of driving while suspended. The suspect appeared in bail court on August 28 and was held in jail overnight before being remanded into custody until September 3.

Kaitlyn Dunn, a police spokesperson, confirmed the robberies in an email. She stated that the suspect used an object to smash windows in order to gain entry to the businesses.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is urging business owners to take precautions to secure their premises and to report any suspicious activity to the police. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.
