72 English towns to share £830m Future High Streets Fund boost

The government has revealed 72 areas across England that will share £830 million from the Future High Streets Fund. The funding aims to revive struggling town centres and boost local economies. Several councils worked with consultancy firm AspinallVerdi to secure their share of the investment. Tamworth Borough Council successfully bid for £21.65 million with support from AspinallVerdi. The firm also helped Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council secure conditional offers of £6.3 million for Elland and £11.7 million for Halifax town centres.

AspinallVerdi played a key role in Amber Valley Borough Council’s bid, assisting with the transformation of Heanor town centre. Their involvement included developing the business case to strengthen the council’s application. Northumberland County Council also benefited from the firm’s expertise, receiving £11.121 million for Blyth town centre. The funding will support regeneration projects in each area, though specific plans have yet to be detailed.

The Future High Streets Fund will distribute £830 million to 72 selected locations. Councils that partnered with AspinallVerdi secured significant portions of the funding. The investments are expected to drive improvements in infrastructure, business growth, and community spaces across the chosen towns.
