Football games being played - Eco-friendly restrooms at the DFB Cup championship in Berlin
Approximately 70,000 spectators will create waste at the DFB Cup final in Berlin. To deal with this, the German Football Association will set up four blocks of ten eco-sanitary facilities near the Olympic Stadium. These facilities will help transform some of the waste into fertilizer. This initiative is part of the association's environmental efforts for the match between German champions Bayer Leverkusen and second division team 1. FC Kaiserslautern (8:00 PM/ARD and Sky).
The fan festival at the stadium will be considered a "sustainability zone." Leftover food will be given away for free or converted into biogas. One type of vegetarian sausage is priced one euro lower than a meat one because of the association's support. The DFB also created a carpooling platform for fans attending the match.
