Struck by a moving train - Dynamo Dresden laments the injured fan (51 years old)
A young man named Michael Krauße, a die-hard Dynamo Dresden fan, had his life cut short on May 18th when he was only 51 years old.
Sadly, during the excitement of the last home game for his beloved team, he accidentally tripped on the platform of the Dresden main station. Tragically, he fell between the platform's edge and an incoming train. Despite being rushed to the hospital, his injuries proved to be too severe, and he passed away.
In a moving tribute, team captain Stefan Kutschke (35) expressed his condolences and dedication at the recent cup final win: "We dedicate this victory to our fallen fan. It was truly worth fighting for."
For many years, Michael had contributed to his community as a trainer and team leader at the Bischofswerdaer FV, a 5th league team. Now, he leaves behind his wife and three children to grieve his loss.
The accident recorded on video cameras
Authorities confirmed that the tragic incident was captured on the station's surveillance cameras. Therefore, there's no evidence suggesting that the man acted on purpose or that anyone else was involved in his accident. It's believed that Michael mistakenly stumbled and fell between the oncoming train and the platform's edge.
Michael's brother, Marko Krauße, has initiated a fundraiser on gofundme to help support his brother's family. In his emotional appeal, Marko states: "Michael leaves behind his adoring wife, his three children, and their three grandchildren. Due to his passing, my sister-in-law cannot afford to complete the construction of their new home. We've watched their dreams of a comfortable home and precious family moments shatter before our eyes. I humbly ask you to consider making a small donation towards this building project. While your hope cannot replace him, it can bring comfort to a currently devastated family situation."
