Uncle grants desired wish of ailing young girl - Dying Emily desires to consume pizza in Italy.

This family from Jackerath, NRW, is in a financial crisis due to the kidney tumor that Emy (8), who has two siblings aged 4 and 12, is battling. Her mother Jessica Reisten, a saleswoman, has been absent from work for years, while her father Christian works part-time.

Emy dreams of flying in an airplane, specifically to Italy to try the pizza there. The collected donations will make this dream come true and also fund a family vacation to a pony farm since she adores horses.

Georg Scholl, Emys Onkel, sagt: „Sie verlor nie ihr Lächeln“

Her uncle's wish is for Emy to enjoy these final moments. When she laughs and shines, it's hard to believe she'll be gone in a few months.

The journey towards this diagnosis started three years ago when Emy experienced severe leg pain, which doctors initially believed were growing pains. It was later discovered that she had a kidney tumor which had spread.

In June 2021, Emy received the devastating news - Neuroblastoma Stage 4. Chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation from her father, and antibody therapies followed. Teams from the universities of Dusseldorf, Cologne, and Berlin worked together.

Sadly, the cancer has resumed its spread, and Emy was sent home two weeks ago. The doctors couldn't do anything more, and this was a massive shock for her sister and the entire family. Emy is currently being looked after by a palliative team.

Through GoFundMe, over 40,000 euros have been collected for the family. Fundraising has been a humbling experience, with many sending messages that leave the family in tears.
