DAZN Bet joins the German Sports Betting Association (DSWV) and attracts attention in the German sports betting industry

Interesting side note: Before joining DAZN Bet, Daniel Berthold was employed by the gambling conglomerate Entain and was responsible for the bwin brand. Shay Segev, now CEO of DAZN, was his boss at the time.
Following in ESPN Bet's footsteps?
DAZN Bet is a joint venture between the sports streaming service DAZN and the gambling company Pragmatic Play. The collaboration began in 2022 and DAZN Bet has already been rolled out in several countries. However, the bookmaker had to wait for a license to be granted in Germany, which was finally issued at the end of August 2023.
The idea of sports broadcasters and bookmakers joining forces to launch their own product on the sports betting market is not new. Last year, the US sports betting provider ESPN Bet caused a stir by breaking a download record at launch.

However, it seems that DAZN has not yet exhausted all possibilities to promote its own sports betting offering. It is conceivable that DAZN has already concluded contracts with other bookmakers that are regularly placed as advertising partners during streams.
