Potential future issues for FC teams? - Cologne worries about their defensive leader Chabot before the last game.

Jeff Chabot (26), who's been out of training on Thursday due to a cold, is expected to recover soon as per the consultation with coach Timo Schultz (46) and the medical team. The goal is for him to return on Friday. "Jeff has a minor illness," says Schultz, expressing his assumption that the player will get better. However, he's not certain about it.

FC's situation is tough because they face a race against time if they lose this match. Chabot has been an essential and fantastic player for Cologne in the recent fight against relegation.

The team is struggling and dealing with multiple setbacks. Denis Huseinbasic and Benno Schmitz, two of the players, have been suspended already (5th yellow card). Additionally, Max Finkgräfe, a young star, got injured during the 3:2 win against Union and cannot play. There's also a significant question mark regarding Luca Waldschmidt.

Waldschmidt, after receiving a foul kick to his calf in the Union game, took part in some training on Thursday but had to leave earlier than expected. Will he be fit for Saturday's match?

Schultz admits that the team has many unknowns. They've assumed Max and Luca were out of contention, but they're improving. The coach now needs to determine whether they'll be enough, especially for potential relegation games. The main goal for FC is to ensure they go to the relegation play-offs to safeguard their spot in the league. "We all want to remain in the league," says Schultz emphatically.

Mark Uth is guaranteed to play against Heidenheim, and he might even feature in the starting lineup once more. "He practiced great all week," notes Schultz. "Whether he starts or not will be decided later in consultation with Mark."
