Allegedly, over 300 million euros stated. - Brad Pitt's Formula 1 movie exceeds financial limits
I hope this movie won't affect Pitt's reputation too much...
A journalist who contributes to publications like "Forbes" and "Puck" predicts a staggering $300 million budget for this upcoming film. Multiple delays and reshoots are cited as the culprits.
Pitt, a renowned actor, is not only starring in the movie but also producing it. Jerry Bruckheimer (80, "Pirates of the Caribbean"), a well-known producer himself, is also involved. It's reported that Apple TV snatched up the completed script in early 2022 for $130-140 million.
According to current information, the story revolves around an aging race car driver (played by Pitt) who returns to racing to guide a younger driver (Damson Idris). Pitt's character serves as a teammate to help the younger driver achieve a world championship victory.
Thus far, only a few films like "Avatar: The Way of Water" ($350 million) and "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" (over $350 million) have managed to have a production budget of $300 million.
Here's hoping Pitt avoids a misfire like "Babylon." That film managed to earn just a small fraction of its $80 million production budget.
