Bavarian State's Legal Online Gambling Platform Launch
Bavarian Financial Institutions Plan to Launch a Government-Sanctioned Online Casino, Offering Games like Roulette and Blackjack
As per an article in games&business, the online casino of the Bavarian casinos is set to go live in the German state of Bavaria.
The Bavarian casinos have been added to the Joint Gaming Authority of the States' (GGL) whitelist since April 15, 2024, thereby gaining the legal authorization to provide online gaming services. Currently, the online offerings of the Bavarian casinos comprise the following games:
- 3D Roulette
- Virtual Roulette
- 3D Blackjack
- Red7 Blackjack
- Texas Hold'em Plus
This online gaming platform is accessible only to individuals aged 18 and above who reside in Bavaria. The live roulette games are available from Sunday to Thursday, between 10:00 AM and 02:00 AM, and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 AM to 03:00 AM. The minimum bet at blackjack is 0.10 euros, whereas at live roulette, players can place bets up to 3,000 euros per round. The other gaming options are available round-the-clock.
Given that this is an extension of the offerings at the state casinos in Bavaria, table games are legally allowed to be provided online. Online slots, however, are not currently available. Speaking on the new online offering, SLSV President Claus Niederalt stated:
