45-year-old German mentalist and negotiation expert Jack Nasher, named in an article from the Salzburger Nachrichten on June 18th, has purchased the traditional casino in Bad Gastein, Austria. However, the legal ownership transfer has not been completed.

After publication in the Salzburger Nachrichten on June 18th, the ownership change is now finalized. Jack Nasher and his company Murany Liegenschaftsverwaltungs GmbH & Co. KG now appear in the land registry of the former casino. Jack Nasher now legally owns the property. The continuation of the demolition work and the opening of his event center remain uncertain at this time.
Nasher not yet in the land registry
According to a report from the Salzburger Nachrichten, construction on Casino Bad Gastein has been halted. Jack Nasher initiated demolition work on the property in recent weeks. However, authorities intervened as Nasher is not yet the legal owner and cannot make changes or perform demolition tasks. Casinos Austria AG remains the legal owner. A spokesperson for the AG stated:

The spokesperson for Casinos Austria AG noted that construction is currently at a standstill and the situation is being clarified. Nasher is also reportedly facing challenges from other sources as he did not inform the property administration or the 65 co-owners of the construction plan. According to their statement, Nasher began work without prior notice. An old bar and restrooms have been removed.
Nasher contests removal of waste
Jack Nasher has also addressed the current situation. He described the actions taken as follows:

Nasher argues that he does not require permission to dispose of waste. However, he consulted with the building authority and the monument authority beforehand. He is now working closely with both authorities and exchanging information regularly. Nasher plans to submit the building application soon. Before submitting the application, he had a comprehensive building-historical expert opinion prepared in cooperation with the Federal Monument Authority.
Concerned citizens of Bad Gastein
Jack Nasher acquired the traditional Casino Bad Gastein as early as January. However, he is not yet listed in the land registry and, therefore, the legal owner. The residents of Bad Gastein and the co-owners of the building express concern. The casino was supposed to be sold by March 2023. Stefan Tomek, former manager of the Grand Hotel de l'Europe, which houses the casino, was set to become the new owner. The sale appeared to be a foregone conclusion, and the notarial sale had already been signed. However, the sale to Jack Nasher was ultimately not finalized due to financial issues. The residents of Bad Gastein now fear that the sale to Jack Nasher may also fail and result in further disarray.
The Casino Bad Gastein has been closed since 2015 after the concession expired. The rooms have been idle since then.
Nasher announced his intentions to renovate the Casino Bad Gastein in the style of James Bond months ago. He plans to use the premises under the name Murany as an event center.
In an interview with the Salzburger Nachrichten, Nasher stated that the land registry entry would soon be completed. He had already made the payment for the purchase of the former casino several months ago. The delays were attributed to the Land's Real Estate Commission, responsible for the process, as Jack Nasher is a German citizen.
He expects the transfer to occur at any moment. According to his estimate, the former Casino Bad Gastein will reopen its doors this year. The grand rooms are to be completely renovated by the end of the year.
The coming weeks will determine whether Nasher will become the rightful owner and can renovate the casino according to his plans.
