Before the tense Paris encounter between Nadal and the opponent - Zverev discusses his court case.

German tennis player Alexander Zverev (27) will face off against Rafael Nadal (37) in the first round of the French Open in Paris on Monday. This upcoming match is generating plenty of excitement, especially because Zverev will be simultaneously facing legal charges filed by his ex-girlfriend, Brenda Patea (30), in Berlin on the same day.

Zverev has chosen not to accept a financial penalty for these accusations and has opted to fight them in court. Patea is also serving as a co-plaintiff in the trial.

In a rare public comment, Zverev discussed the trial and its impact on his life. "The trial doesn't affect me at all. I've always trusted in the German legal system and the truth. I believe that the truth will prevail," he shared.

In the past, he had faced similar accusations from another ex, Olga Sharypova (26), which did not hinder his performance on the court. Sharypova never officially reported Zverev, but he did press charges against her.

Despite the current controversy, Zverev has remained calm and confident, just as he did when Patea filed her accusations in July 2023. The current tournament in Paris seems to be a testament to his mental strength and focus.

"That's why I can play confidently. My results have shown that. Winning the Masters in Rome was a significant achievement. If I were consumed by the legal process, I wouldn't be able to play like this," remarked Zverev.

The trial in Berlin is expected to last for ten days, ending on July 19. By this time, Wimbledon will have concluded, and the Paris Olympics will be just around the corner.

Despite the adversity, Zverev remains determined and focused. Only time will tell how this legal battle will unfold and what impact it will have on his professional life.
