Seamless triumph - Zverev advances towards the championship.

At the French Open's second round match between Alexander Zverev (27) and David Goffin (33), held at Court Suzanne Lenglen, a pigeon gets trapped under the roof. It can't escape because the roof resembles the sky, causing the pigeon to repeatedly collide with it, prompting an "Ahhh" reaction from the audience.

Zverev and Goffin observe the situation closely. Moments later, the pigeon manages to exit the stadium, prompting loud cheers from the elated spectators. This incident is the highlight of Zverev's workday, securing his spot in the third round with a 7:6 (7:4), 6:2, 6:2 victory. He says, "I played well today. I'm satisfied with my performance. The match against Nadal was just the first round. I knew I had to continue playing well for another two weeks."

Nadal's defeat sets the stage for an exciting game. However, both players struggle with their serves during the initial exchanges. Zverev has a rare opportunity at a break point, also a set point, but doesn't take advantage and instead enters a tiebreak.

In the second set, Goffin's errors become more frequent, providing chances for Zverev to win 0:6. Yet, the Olympic champion fails to capitalize and proceeds despite this lack of efficiency.

Despite facing two challenges - the ongoing legal proceedings against his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea (30) in Berlin, where he won't need to attend personally, and his matches in Paris - Zverev continues to display dominance on the court. His victory against the world number 115 further bolsters his standing as a contender for the Roland Garros title.

After two hours and 23 minutes, the contest reaches a conclusion. For the remainder of the tournament, Zverev must juggle both legal and tennis commitments. On Friday, the bullying case against him starts in Berlin, while on Saturday, he returns to Paris.

Another reason to cheer for Alexander Zverev, who has his next match on Saturday.
