Zelensky extends invitations to Biden and Xi for a peace summit concerning Ukraine, hosted in Switzerland.
The Ukraine Peace Talks are scheduled for June 15 and 16 at a venue by Lake Lucerne in Switzerland. The Swiss government has extended invitations to 160 delegations, but it's been reported that Russia will not be participating. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that over 80 countries have committed to attend the conference.
These talks will follow the G7 Summit that's set to take place in neighboring Italy, from 13th-15th June. The G7 gathering features the leaders of Germany, the USA, France, Italy, the UK, Canada, and Japan. It's hoped that these leaders will join the discussions in Switzerland in person, further strengthening the potential for fruitful dialogue.
