Astounding Relocation - Zeiss Jena introduces clearer solutions from Leipzig.
Philipp Wendt (27), who has been a key player for BSG Chemie Luckenwalde, won't be participating in their season finale due to a suspension. After this, he'll be saying goodbye to Leutzsch and transferring to their fourth-division rivals, Carl Zeiss Jena.
Hans Jerke from the sports management of BSG Chemie reveals, "This departure is a tough one on both a sports and personal level. Philipp Wendt is a top player for our team, and replacing him won't be easy. While we wish we could've kept him around, we understand his desire to seek new horizons and face different challenges."
Wendt gives his perspective as well: "Personally, it was crucial for me to optimize my performance in a professional environment. I felt I could only fully excel in that setting. I enjoy my job as a recruitment consultant, which usually requires me to work more efficiently in the evenings when I'm at my best.
He also shared his thoughts on his future move, "We're not really going anywhere, we'll still be staying in Leipzig. I'll definitely try to attend at least one match in person at the stadium if it's possible. I will definitely continue to support Chemie's progress and cheer for them from afar. I'm leaving with a satisfied yet nostalgic feeling. I've enjoyed my time here and am looking forward to taking on this new adventure."
So Wendt's new endeavor lies in Jena.
