Hani Al-Akhdar was taken captive and slain by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip on October 7th. Israeli forces disclosed on Friday: The army has retrieved her body and two others from Gaza.
"The soldiers showed up and reported we had found Hani's body and conveyed it back to Israel... We're content that she's here and can now give her the appropriate burial," Hani's mother, Ricarda Al-Akhdar, informed the New York Post.

In spite of this, even in death, Hani motivates Israeli soldiers on the front line to continue fighting.
"One soldier said to me he went to Gaza to battle after viewing my daughter's photograph as he professed, "It can't be such," another soldier remarked to the mother, "You comprehend, I'm fighting and always consider what occurred to your daughter."
For her parents, it's a relief they can now bury their Hani in Israel.
"It instills in us the feeling that she's constantly close by," said her mother. "She's content to return to Israel and conclude the circle. I'm delighted to have her near me."
