Yaamava' Casino Resort is Giving Away $300 for Winning Its Hot Dog Challenge
Casinos are well-known for attracting guests to their gaming floors by offering free promotional play. However, if you want to redeem the $300 free-play incentive at Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel, you'll need to be daring enough to participate in their hot dog eating challenge.
Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel, previously known as San Manuel Casino, is managed by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. It's located in Highland, California, around 70 miles east of Los Angeles. This vast resort is one of the biggest and most successful Native American-owned gaming establishments in the United States, housing over 7,200 slot machines and 150 table games. The property also boasts a 17-story hotel with 432 guest rooms and amenities like a retail shopping center, a number of restaurants, and a 3,000-seat theater.
One of its restaurants, The 909, is famous for its diverse food options and extensive beverage menu, including craft beer and cocktails. They also offer quick bites like hot dogs. This August 11, The 909 is introducing a massive, 3,000-calorie hot dog dubbed the Mega Dog.
This 22-inch meaty behemoth is topped with cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, pickled jalapenos, red onions, green jalapeno sauce, and white sauce. For those courageous enough to stomach the monstrous appetite-whetting dish within 15 minutes, they will be rewarded with $300 in casino credits. Matt Stonie, a professional competitive eater, will be on hand, encouraging and witnessing the battle.
Apart from the casino credits, winners will also have their picture added to the Mega Dog Hall of Fame and receive a complimentary T-shirt celebrating their achievements. Previously, Matt Stonie broke the streak of Joey Chestnut at the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest, which took place on New York's Coney Island during the Fourth of July celebrations. He consumed 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes, while Chestnut's total was 60.
Joey Chestnut has been the winner of the Nathan's contest every year since 2007, except for Stonie's victory in 2015. If you cannot make it to Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel for this Friday's event, The 909 is still hosting the Mega Dog challenge throughout the year as a Club Serrano member perk. However, you'll need to pay $30 for each attempt and shall devour the entire hot dog, complete with toppings, within 10 minutes. The rewards for completing the challenge will remain the same, including the free play, the Hall of Fame entry, and the custom T-shirt.
