WrestleMania Makes a Comeback in Las Vegas after a 32-Year Absence

WWE revealed that WrestleMania XLI, the biggest wrestling event of the year, will take place in Las Vegas in 2025. This extravaganza will occur at Allegiant Stadium on the 19th and 20th of April.

This will be the first time the annual event has been held in Las Vegas since its visit to Caesars Palace in 1993. Nick Khan, WWE president, remarked on the announcement, stating that "Las Vegas is the sports and entertainment capital of the world." He also praised Allegiant Stadium, declaring it to be "even greater than the A+ venue Las Vegas guaranteed it would be."

For some time, U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis seemed to be the favorite location for WrestleMania XLI, following Minnesota Sports and Events' submission of their bid. However, it was Scott Roeben, a Vital Vegas blogger, who predicted Las Vegas as the preferred location in early February.

Fans have been wondering why the announcement had been delayed, especially since the usual time for announcing the following year's event is shortly after each WrestleMania. It seems likely that a last-minute change is responsible for the delay.

The 32-Year Wait

Although WWE has continued to thrive since its 1993 event in Vegas, its audience capacity has not.

Since 2007 (with the exception of the pandemic years), only venues with larger than 65,000 seating capacities have been selected for hosting WrestleMania, also known as "The Showcase of Immortals." However, Las Vegas had not featured such a facility until the Raiders dropped their new stadium, Allegiant Stadium, in 2020.

Allegiant Stadium also hosted SummerSlam 2021, the first WWE premium live event following the closed-door shows throughout the pandemic.

Furthermore, WWE has been attracted to Las Vegas since its merger with UFC and joining forces under the TKO Group Holdings umbrella last September. Their first official crossover event was the relocation of the NXT Battleground event from Savannah, Georgia, to the UFC Apex on June 9.

Ticket details for WrestleMania XLI are expected to be disclosed "in the coming months," with fans advised to register for pre-sale opportunities here.
