What athletes are headed to the home European Championships? - Wohlgemuth announces two new names.

Four professionals from VfB Stuttgart, including Chris Führich (26), Deniz Undav (27), Maximilian Mittelstädt (27), and Waldemar Anton (27), were recently in national coach Julian Nagelsmann's (36) squad for the last two international matches against France and the Netherlands. The Stuttgart sporting director, Fabian Wohlgemuth (45), is hoping to have two more players from his team on the list.

During a recent interview, Wohlgemuth was asked if he could recommend any Stuttgart players for the upcoming European Championship. He replied, "There were many positive individual developments throughout the year. Alex Nübel made an impressive save, and Angelo Stiller yet again showed today that he may have a magnetic force in his shoes."

Alexander Nübel has kept 13 clean sheets with VfB Stuttgart this season.

However, questions arise about the eligibility of Nübel (27) and Stiller (23) for the home tournament. Despite their outstanding performances this season, both players have yet to play in a senior international match. Additionally, Nübel's strained relationship with regular goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (38) could be a factor against his nomination. The two have a history of disliking each other, which originated from their time together at FC Bayern.

Angelo Stiller is the undisputed pacemaker of the VfB game this season.

Despite this, it was not just Wohlgemuth who advocated for Stiller's inclusion in the squad. Stiller's coach, Sebastian Hoeneß (42), also praised his performance: "Angelo has been playing well since his last nomination. It wouldn't be a mistake to include such a player in the squad. But the decision ultimately belongs to Julian."

While Führich's nomination for the European Championship is more likely, Stuttgart is confident that the winger will be included in the team. Wohlgemuth confidently stated, "Given how well he's performed this season, he deserves to be nominated for the national team."
