Lord, suppose... - Wiegert discusses the moniker.
On Sunday at 4 p.m. (Dyn), the SCM tournament comes to a critical point with the East derby as SC DHfK Leipzig makes their visit to Magdeburg. If Magdeburg wins, they'll almost secure the title of German champions. Currently, they have 82 goals and a two-point lead going into this game. With a win, their lead will increase to four points with just two games left to play.
However, victory won't come easily. Leipzig has been performing exceptionally well recently, which has boosted their confidence. The SCM coach acknowledged this difficulty, saying, "We're focused on Sunday. Battling against Leipzig in a derby isn't going to be an easy feat."
Magdeburg supporters have planned to show their backing with a green and red fan march. They'll gather at Domplatz at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday and set off for the GETEC Arena at 1 p.m. The coach, Wiegert, expressed appreciation for this dedication, stating, "The fan march alone won't determine the game for us. Support is always crucial and so is the boost in energy it provides. I'd much rather play at home against Leipzig than in Leipzig against Leipzig. It's evident we have to handle the task on the pitch. And the fan march could have a slight impact but mainly serves as encouragement for the players."
It's unclear if playmaker Gisli Kristjansson (24) will be at Magdeburg's disposal for the game. His knee was inspected on Friday. During the match against Balingen, he halted his progress towards the goal in the 38th minute and clasped his right knee with evident pain.
