Host Sophia Thomalla - Why she didn't experience Zverev's French Open marvel
Alexander Zverev barely cracked a smile after his win, choosing humility over celebration. In his quick interview after the match, he simply remarked, "This isn't my moment; it belongs to Rafa." Nadal warmly congratulated his opponent on the victory.
Zverev has joined the ranks of Robin Soderling and Novak Djokovic as the third player to defeat the clay court champion. Unfortunately, Sophia Thomalla couldn't congratulate him in person. She was nowhere to be seen.
Sophia Thomalla, daughter of "Tatort" star Simone Thomalla, shared a picture on Instagram with a friend and some words about Zverev and Nadal together. She wrote, "Meanwhile in Paris," accompanied by a heart emoji.
Sophia Thomalla, Not in Paris but in Thailand
Unlike other times, when she cheers her boyfriend on from the sidelines, Sophia had to watch the match on tv in her hotel room. That's because she's relaxing in Koh Samui, Thailand. Surprisingly, she's also working. As a host, she's currently filming the dating show "Are You The One?" with palm trees in the backdrop.
Sophia Thomalla, 34, has been hosting the show since 2021, and she's become infamous for her biting remarks. It makes sense why some participants are petrified of her critiques.
Zverev has to wait several weeks before he can celebrate his victory with his girlfriend. But in the meantime, he shared an image of himself with Rafael Nadal on the tennis court, writing, "It was an honor to play against you again."
