Parenting with two ex-partners
Kate Hudson has shared custody of her sons Ryder (20) and Bingham (12) with their fathers, both of whom are musicians. Chris Robinson (57), the frontman of the Black Crowes, is Ryder's father, while Matt Bellamy (45) from the band Muse is Bingham's dad. Hudson considers their blended family a true harmony. "This is who we are. We're very connected and close - love doesn't have to remain the same. It's fascinating in this modern setup with so much love for all the children," Hudson states.
The expansive family tree doesn't end there. Chris Robinson also fathered Cheyenne (14) from his third marriage, and Matt Bellamy and his wife, Elle Evans, have one daughter, Lovella (3), with another baby on the way. Hudson remarks on this remarkable family arrangement, "The kids feel like they have a big, loving family."
Hudson's role as a babysitter
Hudson recounts how she recently babysat Bellamy's daughter Lovella while her ex and his wife were out. "I was like, 'Bring her over, let's spend some time together,'" she shares. Hudson cherishes the unconventional family dynamic, calling it "beautiful." She adds, "Everyone is open to it, and it's the most mature approach for the kids. You can see it on their faces - they feel loved, protected, and safe."
In many ways, Hudson's family dynamics mirror those of her famous mother, Goldie Hawn. Hawn too has three kids with two men. Kate and her brother Oliver (47) have father Bill Hudson (74), while Hawn had her son Wyatt (37) with Kurt Russell (73).
