No formal goodbye ceremony. - What's in store for St. Pauli's unsteady soccer players?
Occasionally, things don't turn out as we initially expected. St. Pauli has chosen to abstain from making any rash decisions. There is still ample time until the end of June (contract expiration) or early September (summer transfer window closure). Perhaps they will reconsider a few players before making any final decisions. Training is expected to commence around July 2-3, with a training camp beginning later in the month.
How will the unstable players be handled?
A proper send-off is essential for the club. A farewell celebration will take place at a future date, away from the large fan stage.
One player who could be considered unstable is Maurides (30, contract until 2026). The striker (three brief appearances this season) hasn't been included in the squad recently. He won't be on the bench for the final 2. Bundesliga game either.
Maurides sustained a concussion after accidentally colliding with a ball during training on Thursday, according to head coach Fabian Hürzeler (31).
Etienne Amenyido (26, ankle tendon) will also be absent for the trip to Wiesbaden. Instead, Scott Banks (22), recently returned from a serious knee injury suffered while playing for Crystal Palace, could make his St. Pauli debut. Hürzeler commented on the loan signing: "He's an option again. He's been part of every training session since his injury."
