Holders of titles since 1903 - What position does my team hold on the championship trophy?
There's a fresh name on the coveted trophy now. Before Bayer, VfL Wolfsburg was the most recent newcomer in 2009. Long before that, it was Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1970.

The first team to have their name at the top of the bowl, next to one of the five large tourmaline gemstones, is none other than VfB Leipzig. They were the German soccer champs back in 1903, before it was the bowl that was presented, rather a challenge cup in the form of a winged Roman goddess of victory, the Victoria.
Present Day - Where Are They Now?
The Victoria was lost during the war, so a silver cup was created in its place in 1949. The champions of the first half of the century were added, and VfB Leipzig became Lok Leipzig, currently playing in the Regionalliga Nordost. Meanwhile, the 1910 champion, Karlsruher FV, is now in the Kreisklasse. The 1942 champion, Rapid Vienna, is in the Austrian Bundesliga.
By 1981, the trophy was completely filled. An outer ring was forged around it to accommodate more champions. This outer zone has been dominated by FC Bayern, with an astonishing 26 of their 33 titles etched on it. Most recently, they've won 11 times in a row. The Werkself came next.
In its present form, the trophy still has room for a couple more names before it needs to be expanded again.
