Klagenfurt sees 96-Flop's forceful presence - What comes next for Besuschkow?

At stunning Lake Wörthersee, Max Besuschkow (26) has rediscovered the delight of kicking a ball - and even regained his footballing prowess. The 96 loaned player displayed remarkable performances at Austria Klagenfurt, netting two goals (against Rapid Vienna and RB Salzburg) and creating four more.

"He was able to demonstrate his capabilities once again," commented 96's sports director Marcus Mann (40). "The loan was a total triumph."

Besuschkow ventured to Austria during the winter as he no longer had a spot under coach Stefan Leitl (46).

Pacult Revives Besuschkow's Skills

Besuschkow thrived in Klagenfurt and found a magnificent advocate for his playing style in Peter Pacult (64/formerly 1860, Leipzig, Dresden). The seasoned coach supported him, enabling him to re-emerge. Besuschkow showed his gratitude with exceptional displays.

What's next? Klagenfurt wishes to retain Besuschkow, but cannot afford the total compensation. So far, 96 has footed part of his payroll. Austria completed the campaign in sixth spot, missing out on qualifying for Europe for the third time.

No Further Besuschkow Loans!

Another loan is no longer possible - Besuschkow is currently signed with Hannover until 2025.

The ex-Regensburg player is presently on vacation and would - at the moment - be present at Hannover's training launch on June 23 to vie for a second chance. Will he truly get another chance with Leitl?

A hasty exit seems more probable. The Reds would even forgo a transfer fee to save the roughly 45,000 euros per month in wages. Initial inquiries have already been received.
