North Rhine-Westphalia's Lottery Firm WestLotto Teams Up with the State
As reported by ISA-GUIDE, WestLotto, a lottery company, and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia have secured a five-year contract. Within this arrangement, WestLotto has pledged to fund various sports events in North Rhine-Westphalia for the subsequent five years. These events will encompass both domestic and international sports competitions happening in North Rhine-Westphalia.
CEO of WestLotto, Andreas Kötter, expressed his views on their partnership with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia:
Sports competitions and elite-level sports often necessitate financial resources, regardless of the specific sport in question. This is particularly true for numerous events that aren't currently funded by TV grants or major sponsors. Moreover, WestLotto collaborates with the North Rhine-Westphalia State Sports Association and the North Rhine-Westphalia Sports Foundation. Each year, WestLotto contributes approximately half a million euros towards financing various sports events in NRW, such as the Field Hockey Final4 Tournament 2024 in Bonn, slated for May 18-19.
WestLotto's Role and Social Obligation
WestLotto values responsible gambling and player protection. The North Rhine-Westphalian lottery corporation frequently trains its employees and arranges regular training sessions for lottery sales outlet operators in NRW. These sessions provide education on implementing player protection measures and adopting new lottery outlet technology standards. By 2025, WestLotto aims to install 3,000 new lottery terminals in NRW, offering players and lottery outlet employees modern high-definition displays. WestLotto also supports numerous non-profit organizations.
