Unmistakable goal by Werder. - Werner shows a growing interest in Europe.
This year, it's possible for Werder to dream of Europa League again! They've won against Stuttgart (2:1) and Augsburg (3:0), and are now only three points away from 7th place. Since the draw against Mönchengladbach secured their relegation, they can now fully focus on the final big step.
Werder's Chance of European Football Returns
Ole Werner, the coach (36), takes a more practical approach: "Dreaming isn't suitable for our profession, but working and focusing on the tasks ahead. We achieved our goal for the season, which is a positive outcome. That was a good performance from the team and the staff, not to be taken for granted."
For the first time, Werner clearly expressed his goal for the games against Leipzig (Sat., 3:30 p.m.) and Bochum (Sun., 3:30 p.m.): securing two wins and increasing the chances of a significant achievement!
"I'm not a dreamer, but I believe in my team. We'll approach the games just like we have all season. We want to finish the season in the best possible place. To do that, we need good results. We still have the ambition and the team spirit that we want to improve," Werner said.
In other words: "With confidence in our chest, excited to play for something rather than against it. The reality is, we aim to finish the season in a high position. To achieve this, we must deliver solid performances."
