Seasoned caster declares choice. - Werder's prospects regarding Weiser

Apart from Werder Bremen's desire for Europe, there was another subject that drew attention at their 1:1 meeting in Leipzig: the future of Mitchell Weiser (30). There is only one Bundesliga matchday remaining - the match against Bochum (Saturday, 3.30 pm) could be his last appearance in a Werder jersey.

Weiser is hesitant to sign the expiring contract with the Bremen team.

During an ARD sports show, the midfielder revealed when there will be clarity and how good Werder's chances are. He said, "I think in the next week. The chances are 50-50."

Werder's Possibilities with Weiser

Coach Ole Werner (36) confirmed after the final whistle that the Bundesliga club is eager to keep the top performer. "We would like to have Mitch with us."

The coach further added, "I think most of the arguments have been exchanged. Then we'll see what Mitch decides."

Weiser has previously considered leaving due to a lack of sporting opportunities. The prospect of playing in Europe next season could be a positive step.

"We have a lot of potential. We didn't fully utilize it, but there were also phases where we demonstrated it very well," the player stated, summing up the season. "It's a mental question. When you see a game like today, you don't need to hide from anyone."

From his words, it seems like the player hasn't given up on his team completely.
