Bundesliga finally arrives! - Wahl accomplished it on the second try.
Wahl was born in Hamburg and had a disheartening experience in 2021 with Holstein Kiel when they missed out on promotion to the Bundesliga twice - once in the last two games of the 2nd division and again in the relegation play-off against Cologne. Now, his dreams have come true.
He shared, "This has been my goal for a long time. The emotions from three years ago, when we didn't make it, make this moment even more special for me. As a native of Hamburg, playing for a big club in my hometown is a dream come true. Seeing the excitement before the game and the explosion of happiness afterward was unbelievable!"
Wahl Tastes Bundesliga Success at His Second Try
Wahl continued, "In the last few weeks, we had a feeling that we could do it. We envisioned what it would be like. But even that couldn't prepare us for this! There's a part of me that feels empty at the moment. So many emotions - I can't handle it all."
And with that, Wahl finally achieved his place in the Bundesliga, playing for St. Pauli. He smiled,"It was about time in my opinion. A little bit later than I would have liked, but that doesn't make it any less satisfying. We were very confident in ourselves."
Celebrating his triumph, Wahl joined the party in the ballroom and didn't forget to mingle with the fans, enjoying a Bengalo drink. It was sweet redemption after a long, difficult journey.
