VIDEO: Vegas Airport Traveler Longs for Casino Gameplay
During the past year, two gambling enthusiasts won large sums of money on slot machines at an airport in Las Vegas. Recently, a video of another man going after a potential jackpot went viral online, leading many to believe he could become the third lucky winner.
The video, posted on Snapchat and X/Twitter, showed the unidentified man speeding towards a machine at the end of a row of slots, dropping his luggage, quickly sitting down on a stool, and frantically pulling out cash or a voucher from his wallet. It's unclear if this person just arrived at the airport or was waiting for a flight that had been delayed, causing him to have some extra time to try his luck.
The video accrued numerous comments, highlighting various opinions. Some people praised the man for his determination, while others voiced their concern about his obvious gambling addiction.
"I can win it back! I have a system!" commented @mfwic76.
"Must be a good setup for an advantage play," wrote @pkrprncss.
"Never seen someone so enthusiastic about wasting their money," added @DonYee46945786.
"Not addicted to gambling or anything," claimed @TheShowOnX.
"He's been dreaming about this moment for months. Let him have his fun," suggested @theminigad.
One comment that particularly stood out was:
"He ran towards that slot machine like I run to the toilet after eating Chipotle," @Yaboy_hardmike wrote.
Regrettably, the outcome is clear: the man didn't hit the jackpot. All extremely rare million-dollar jackpots are announced through press releases from Las Vegas gaming companies.
For instance, in July 2023, Harry Reid announced that a tourist had won $1,286,325 on a Wheel of Fortune Triple Hot 777 slot in Terminal 3, and earlier in the same year, another player scored over $1.3 million on a Wheel of Fortune Triple Double Emeralds machine in the Terminal 1 Esplanade.
Over $1 Billion in Revenue
Over the past three and a half decades, the slots at Harry Reid (previously known as McCarran International Airport) have brought in over $1 billion in earnings, as stated by Michael Gaughan's Airport Slot Concession. His company operates the slot machines at the bustling airport.
These slot machines generate an average gross revenue of approximately $39.8 million yearly, resulting in an average of $34.4 million for the airport itself.
There are a total of 1,430 slot machines available at Harry Reid Airport, helping to offset the airport's costs.
