Video: Lady Gaga Performs with U2 in Las Vegas

Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance with U2 on stage at the Sphere in Las Vegas recently, causing quite the commotion for the 18,000 unassuming audience members.

Bono, aged 63, introduced the 37-year-old pop diva by mentioning that he had attempted to compose his 1989 hit, "All I Want is You," from a female perspective. "I've sung it to women, but I've never sung it with a woman," he said. "We're going to do just that tonight. Not just any woman—the most audacious, lively woman in any room she's ever in."

With that, Gaga emerged to a rousing applause in a black leather biker jacket, black stiletto heels, and Bono-like sunglasses. She gave Bono a warm embrace before they began performing the track together.

The duo then moved on to a rendition of "Shallow," the Oscar-winning song from the "A Star is Born" soundtrack, sung by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

To wrap up their performance, Lady Gaga performed lyrics from U2's 1987 anthem, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," which included a coda from the 1991 hit "Movin' On Up" by Primal Scream.

Gaga amused the crowd between songs, stating, "I was in the desert, and I bumped into these guys." While Gaga was singing, Bono exclaimed, "Take it to the Elvis chapel!" and "You're the vestal virgin of Las Vegas!"

Repeat Performance

This wasn't her first encounter with the Irish sensation. In 2015, she joined them at New York's Madison Square Garden for a rendition of "Ordinary Love," a track from U2's soundtrack for the 2013 Nelson Mandela biopic "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom."

In fact, it wasn't her only collaboration with one of the world's most famous rock bands in that week. Gaga guest-starred with the Rolling Stones at the intimate Racket Club in Chelsea, New York. However, that event was less of a shock since she duets with Mick Jagger on "Sweet Sounds of Heaven," a song from the Stones' new “Hackney Diamonds” album.

Lady Gaga wrapped up the latest stretch of her lengthy Las Vegas residency, "Jazz & Piano," at the Dolby Live at Park MGM on October 5.

U2 has prolonged their "U2:UV Achtung Baby" Las Vegas residency until February 18.
