Lengthy agreement - VfB exercises option to buy Stergiou.
VfB is transferring approximately two million euros to FC St. Gallen for the return of their loaned Swiss player. Stergiou has joined Stuttgart and signed a four-year contract until 2028.
As a recent replacement for the injured Josha Vagnoman (23), Stergiou has become a fixture in the VfB lineup, playing every Bundesliga game in the past five matches. He scored his first goal for VfB during their recent 3-1 victory against FC Bayern.
Due to his strong recent performances, Stergiou is even dreaming of representing Switzerland in the upcoming Euros being hosted in Germany. The Swiss U21 team's captain has appeared once for the "Nati"'s senior team.
There will be numerous more matches for VfB forthcoming.
