Vegas Restaurant Roundup: Durango Casino Opens New Food Options
Station Casinos opened its $780 million Durango Casino Resort on the southwest Las Vegas Strip (6915 S. Durango Drive) on Tuesday. While the 83,000-square-foot casino offers the latest slot machines and table games, the selection for foodies is equally impressive.
Here is the lineup:
- Bel-Aire Lounge and Bel-Aire Backyard Owned by millennial-centric Clique Hospitality, this upscale lounge adjacent to the Durango hotel lobby specializes in small plates, including Kobe sliders , sushi rolls and crispy rice.
- Enjoy the Food Hall Since the Food Hall is the new buffet, this upscale restaurant offers a selection of Hawaiian street food from Ai Pono's Chef Gene Villatora Cafe, Italian Fusion Cuisine from Philadelphia James Beard Award Winner Chef Marc Vetri Located in Fiorella, LA InstitutionIrv's Burgers, New York City Prince Street of pizza by the slice, and New York Deli by Uncle Paulie's.Other stops include Nielsen's Frozen Custard, Oyster Bar, Shang Artisan Noodle, Vesta Coffee, and Yu -Or-Mi Sushi and Sake Bar.
- George Sportsman's Lounge This sports bar, 24-hour restaurant and outdoor entertainment complex is located next to STN Sportsbook, with its 4,200 square feet of digital LED screens fully visible from The George's elevated lounge. The menu is a similar mix, suggesting Buffalo Wild Wings meets Peter Luger. Includes grilled goat cheese, bacon cheeseburger and 32-ounce tomahawk rib-eye steak.
- Mijo Modern Mexican Restaurant The Mexican coast is celebrated with charred octopus with white beans, coconut ceviche and a three-pounder. Grilled lobster.The Wax Rabbit, a speakeasy hidden behind the restaurant – pull the rabbit head on the right to enter – specializes in tequila. Nicco's Prime Cuts & Fresh Fish, led by Chef Danny Ye, is anything but traditional steakhouse in Durango. Of course, it serves USDA prime, dry-aged and wagyu steaks in three dining rooms, two private rooms and a fountain terrace. But the bill is the same for the seafood menu. Taking center stage are crispy Dover sole, citrusy yellowtail and bluefin tuna, topped with Kaluga caviar and gold flakes
- Summer House The chain opened its first location in Chicago in 2013, followed by another in Bethesda, Maryland, two years later. The chain serves Golden State staples like fish tacos, pasta, Brussels sprouts and Hass avocado salad.
