Vegas Music Roundup: Sphere is Dead Set, the Strip’s first all-Hispanic residency
Dead & Company pretty much confirms what we reported earlier this month. The jam-packed supergroup consisting of Grateful Dead survivors Bob Weir and Mickey Hart and singer-songwriter John Mayer will be the next Vegas after U2 Sphere residence.
After jam band Phish missed four shows from April 18 to 21, Dead & Company is expected to play at least 15 shows. Exact dates and ticket information will be included in this week's announcement.
Dead & Company is led by U2 manager Irving Azoff who is also Sphere's booking consultant, so that's not too much of a stretch.
Interestingly, in a poll of 3,000 people conducted earlier this month, Dead & Company were the least popular Sphere headliners, ahead of Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Paul · After McCartney, The Eagles, Bon Jovi and Harry Styles had sex and kissed.
The Strip’s first all-Spanish residence
Los Bukis will be the first all-Spanish-speaking residential complex on the Las Vegas Strip. Performances begin with 15 shows at Park MGM Dolby Live on Mother’s Day and end on Mexico’s Independence Day in September.
Mexican singing group consisting of Marco Antonio, Javier and Joel Solís; Pepe and Roberto Guadarrama; Pedro Sánchez; and Eusebio "El Chi" Eusebio “El Chivo” Cortez reunites for a tour in 2021 after 25 years of selling out U.S. stadiums.
Check-in dates are May 3, 4, 8, 10, and 11; July 12, 13, 17, 19, and 20; and September 13, 14, 18, and 20 and the 21st. Tickets start at $85 and will go on sale to the public via Ticketmaster on February 2nd at 10am PT.
Dr. Celine is here
A documentary about former Vegas headliner Celine Dion's health issues is set to air on Amazon Prime later this year. "I Am: Celine Dion" is directed by Oscar nominee Erin Taylor.
Dionne suffers from stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that caused her to cancel her stay at Resorts World in November 2021.
