Valley Forge Casino Hotel Alleged Prostitution, Drug Venue
Police recently investigated possible sex trafficking activity surrounding a gaming complex and a nearby hotel in Pennsylvania.
Just late last month, detectives with the Upper Merion Township Police Department's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) were searching for people suspected of being involved in a prostitution ring at the Stardust Hotel at Valley Forge Casino. According to Patch, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
The investigation was launched after a woman advertised her services on the website. Police also received reports of suspicious activity around the hotel.
On March 27, investigators conducted surveillance on the hotel grounds. They waited in the parking lot to see if the woman was there.
During the police operation, the suspect was seen leaving the hotel. The officer approached the woman, asked her for identification and asked for her name.
She gave police a name, but investigators soon realized it was fictitious, officials said.
Resisting Arrest
They then attempted to arrest the woman. She clashed with police until they restrained her.
During the search, police said they found drug paraphernalia, an unknown amount of suspected crack cocaine and syringes.
She was charged with providing false identification to law enforcement, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of narcotics.
It was also discovered that the same woman was wanted on drug-related warrants by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, police said.
Local news reports did not identify the woman and did not provide her age or address.
Further drug counts
There were two other men with her in the hotel. The police approached them and asked their names.
Police discovered one of the men was wanted by the Philadelphia Police Department on drug charges. The unnamed man also had drug paraphernalia, suspected cocaine, suspected crack cocaine and syringes at the hotel.
He was charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both the man and woman were later booked into the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania.
The charges are currently pending in the District Court. It is unclear whether the suspect has filed a complaint with a judge.
It is unclear whether the woman or one of the men will also face prostitution charges.
The second man was not charged and was released by police. Local news reports also did not identify him.
Police appear to be investigating possible prostitution and related criminal activity at the hotel.
