The final match played in an FCN uniform. - Uzun casts a spell to keep FCN in the championship!

For the sixth time, 1. FC Nürnberg managed to secure their relegation with a 3-0 victory against SV Elversberg, landing them at the 40-point milestone. This achievement allows them to prepare for another term in the second division before they face Hamburger SV in their final game of the season.

After a trying few weeks, Nuremberg head coach Cristian Fiél (44) found immense relief after securing relegation. In a post-game interview, he expressed gratitude, sinking to his knees and covering his face for a prolonged period.

At the press conference later, Fiél had thoughtful words to share: "The past few weeks haven't been the easiest. It's a massive relief that we could pull off this win today and no longer have to fret over the league we'll participate in next season."

In their last match at home, the club's top scorer, Can Uzun (18), shined as "man of the match." This particular match was significant, as Uzun set up the 1-0 goal for Felix Lohkemper (43) and scored the 3-0 goal himself via an impressive solo effort.

Uzun's failure to notch a brace was due to Jan Gyamerah (28) who was awarded his first penalty of the season (52'). Prior to that, Elversberg's defender, Robin Fellhauer (26) committed a clear handball. This pivotal moment was integral in the game's outcome.

Regrettably, it was Uzun's last match for the club. He collected his fifth yellow card in the second half and will undoubtedly be absent during their final encounter with Hamburger SV this Sunday (3.30 pm).

Emphasizing the emotional match on Sky, the future Eintracht player exclaimed: "The last couple of weeks haven't been too easy. We're pleased we managed to pull through today. We wanted to start aggressively and be aggressive in possession. It worked out splendidly."

A critical topic that must be tackled during the summer break revolves around the factors hindering their success during the second half of the season.
