US: Poker-Related Homicide Involving $3,500
A terrifying murder case has shaken around the small town of Florida, as a young American is suspected of taking another man's life over a $3,500 loss at a poker game. During the interrogation, officers picked up Psilakis' phone call, in which the suspect mentioned that he was injured in an argument with his girlfriend.
However, further medical examinations proved that the burns were actually caused by splashed gasoline that Psilakis had poured onto the already smoking car. The police nabbed the suspect at his mom's house shortly after the incident as he was expected there. They also confiscated the murder weapon, a gun, from his vehicle.
During preliminary interrogation, the perpetrator claimed that he had gotten the burns during a quarrel with his girlfriend, who had poured hot oil over him. Unfortunately, this turns out to be a false story. The suspect admitted to pouring gasoline on the car and starting a fire after suffering further losses in the poker game.
