Upcoming in 2024: The Nürburgring Hosts Europe's Largest Virtual Darts Competition for the First Time (DLMM)

The European E-Darts Championship Tournament (abbreviated as DLMM) is the largest virtual darts tournament in Europe and will be held for the first time from July 5-7 at the renowned Nürburgring. The victors of the tournament will earn a spot in the World Cup in Las Vegas.

Over 3,000 participants anticipated

The DLMM is a cherished event for virtual darts enthusiasts. The team contest has been hosted in Geiselwind, Bavaria, for more than two decades. This year, the tournament shifts its venue to the world-famous Nürburgring in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Organizers predict that this special occasion will attract more than 3,000 participants in over 500 teams. Over 50 hours of virtual darts will be played across the extended weekend, making the DLMM by far the largest virtual darts tournament in Europe.

The primary sponsor of the DLMM is Löwen Dart. The company is offering 200 Löwen Dart devices and 60 Löwen Bar HB10 for the tournament. The HB10 model is new to the market and will be showcased to a massive audience for the first time at the DLMM.

Here's a sneak peek of what fans and competitors can expect at the DLMM 2024:

Award: Team excursions to the European Championship and World Cup

Six awards will be presented at the DLMM, distributed amongst the various leagues. Monetary prizes ranging from 25 to 2,500 EUR will be distributed. The top three teams will also receive a trophy.

However, for many competitors, the prospect of winning a trip to the European Championship or World Cup might be even more enticing. A grand total of four spots for the European Championships and five spots for the World Cup in Las Vegas can be won. These opportunities might serve as a significant motivator for the participants.

Guidelines in a nutshell

In virtual darts, competitors hurl darts at an electronic dartboard using soft darts with a plastic tip to avoid damaging the board. The dartboard automatically calculates the score post-throw.

All competitors at the DLMM must adhere to specific rules. Teams consist of four to six players and compete in the league they participated in during the 2024 season. This includes matches in the C-Liga, B-Liga, A-Liga, BZ-Liga, BZO-/Regional-/Bundesliga, and the DSAB Women's League.

Keeping up with the DLMM

Those who wish to keep up with the DLMM can do so at no cost. There is no entrance fee, and no tickets require pre-purchase. The competition kicks off on Friday, July 5, at 12:00. There will be no broadcast on television or online.

Fans who can't wait for the DLMM to begin can watch the European Darts Open in Leverkusen the following weekend. The focus will be on Luke Littler, 17, who reached the final of the Darts World Championship 2024 and is now making waves on the PDC European Tour. The tournament will take place from June 21-23.

Enjoying the virtual darts scene, some German players might find interest in participating in online casinos that offer darts-themed games. For instance, popular online casinos in Germany might provide an immersive experience for players, with games like electronic darts simulators or darts-themed slot machines.

In addition to the exciting tournaments and awards, participants of the DLMM could also explore online casinos that cater to German players, providing an extra layer of entertainment and potential winnings.
