"I've been aware of this fact for a while..." - Unusual Commentary by Eberl on Television Program

Bayern made an attempt to change the previous agreement from February and get Tuchel to stay with the club.

Now, sporting director Max Eberl (50) states, "I've known about it for some time."

During Bayern's matchup against Hoffenheim, Eberl discussed the situation on Sky saying, "We talked about everything because I wasn't heavily involved in it. We discussed and talked through the situations. In the end, we decided to keep the agreement as it was. That's that."

Conversations regarding Tuchel picked up speed after Bayern's close Champions League loss to Real Madrid. "We had an open and honest conversation," added Eberl, "but it wasn't about convincing. A decision was made, and the matter is now closed."

The challenge faced by Bayern was that the board members Uli Hoeneß (72) and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (68) were not entirely convinced to reverse the firing.

Eberl commented, "We [the management team] are consistently in talks. If we had an idea, we'd pursue it. Though this didn't happen. I'm the sporting director, and ultimately, I'm the one who decides."

Max Eberl on finding a coach: "Learning comes in the end"

Eberl emphasized, "I need to evaluate myself. There's always room for improvement. I am someone who has learned a great deal. The best comes when you finally find the right fit."

The future will reveal whether De Zerbi or another candidate will be the "best" choice.
