It relates to a pizza restaurant. - Uncovering the Reasons for Hertha's Demme Agreement

Demme's transfer to Hertha has been a long-awaited one: since last summer, Hertha's management had been making considerable efforts to acquire the former Leipzig player, and the negotiations took months.

In the end, Demme stayed in Italy where he had one year left on his contract and has now moved to Hertha on a free transfer.

Demme no longer plays for SSC Napoli

His last season was full of frustrations for Demme: he was not nominated for the Champions League by Napoli, then he was benched from the league as well. He has not played for Napoli since February.

Demme, however, is not giving up. He aims to prove himself again. As opposed to the lengthy negotiations last time, a quick decision is expected this time around, and he is eager to start preparing with his new team.

Berlin is where Demme wants to be. Hertha's goal for next season is to be promoted to the Bundesliga, and he wants to be a key asset to that team. He even has a connection to the capital - he owns a part of a Neapolitan pizzeria in Berlin-Mitte.

Running the show at Hertha now, Demme is expected to become a crucial piece of the puzzle for the 2025 promotion team. Before the last game of the season on Sunday in Osnabrück (3.30pm, Sky), outgoing head coach Pal Dardai (48) said: "I'm very happy with the season. The boys have done well."

However, Hertha needs new players to reach higher goals. Dardai added: "When we talk about possession soccer, we have to go one step further. You need a goalkeeper who can play the short passing game. Tjark Ernst can eventually become that, but he's not ready yet. And you need two full-backs who can play out from the back. They control the game. We didn't have that. That was the biggest flaw in terms of positional play."

Demme is now expected to fill that gap. However, a coach to replace Dardai must be found first. The management has not officially announced his departure.

Dardai said: "We in the coaching staff are satisfied with the season. What the management thinks is different. There could be disagreements. But that's how I see it, and I'm putting it all out there."

The push for the Bundesliga continues, but without Dardai - however, with Demme.
