Score is 1:2 in the quarter-final match. - Ulm champions face imminent elimination with a score of 79:82.

In the quarter-final of the BBL playoffs, Würzburg lost game three to Bamberg with a score of 79-82, putting them behind with a 1-2 lead in the best-of-five series. If they lose again, their season may come to an end as early as Friday.

Previously, Würzburg's coach Sasa Filipovski didn't want to watch his team play after their dismal performance in a 64-100 loss against Ulm. However, just two days later, the team looked completely different. They played aggressively, defensively, and fearlessly. Interestingly, they were doing all this without BBL MVP Otis Livingston who had torn a ligament in his knee at the start of the series.

Fans in the packed Tectake Arena (3200-seat capacity) were not shy about expressing their disapproval towards Ulm's captain Thomas Klepeisz, who had kicked their player Owen Klassen while he was on the ground during the first game. Klepeisz tried to stay calm and scored 15 points.

Before halftime, Seljaas made a three-pointer to extend Würzburg's lead to 42-30, prompting Dyn commentator Florian von Stackelberg to exclaim, "The charisma is oozing out of his moustache!" Seljaas had a unique style, with a beard and a mullet hairstyle.

At the half, Würzburg led 44-34. Dyn expert Akeem Vargas urged Ulm to show more ferocity in the next five minutes of play.

Sadly, it didn't work. Schnauzer Seljaas put up another three, increasing the lead to 48-36. Then Julius Böhmer one-upped him with a three-pointer as well. Within two minutes after the break, Ulm's coach Gavel had to call a timeout.

Ulm tried to make up for the deficit with a 12-0 run in the third quarter, making it 64-57. But Washington drained a buzzer-beater three, nullifying their efforts.

Thomas Klepeisz was mercilessly booed by the Würzburg fans

Ulm missed two free throws that could've tied the score at 66-64. Würzburg then made two more three-pointers, taking the lead to 72-64 (34').

was taken to the video review by the referees right before the end. While it's not clear exactly what was said, it's being reported that Gentian Cici declared an unsportsmanlike foul against Jallow and possession for... Bamberg? But Bamberg is the home team and they didn't make it into the playoffs.

Karim Jallow admitted they were lacking intensity at the start of the game. "We didn't have control of the game. That's why we rightly lost. The plan for Friday is to win the game, no matter what," he said.

Zach Seljaas, Würzburg's top scorer with 17 points, commented on the physical nature of the game. "It was intense. And it was fun. Of course we miss Otis, but we fight and play as a team."
