During Monaco's qualifying session. - Two prominent Formula 1 racers disqualified.
Nico Hülkenberg (36) might face a repeat of a failed quality check in Monaco. Haas, the team Hülkenberg is part of, had both their cars rejected by the FIA for not adhering to the regulations. The FIA made a formal announcement about the matter.
The reason cited by the FIA for disqualifying the cars was that the Haas team breached Article 3.10.10.
What did the FIA accuse Haas of? The exterior section of the wing on both cars was found to exceed the maximum allowable width of 85 mm. Haas accepted their mistake and the team's drivers, Hülkenberg and Magnussen, will start the Monaco Grand Prix from the last row of the grid.
The top slot during Sunday's qualification (3 p.m., live on Sky) was taken by Charles Leclerc (26) from Ferrari. In second place was Oscar Piastri (23) driving for McLaren. Sainz (29) of Ferrari finished third. Currently leading the championship, Max Verstappen (26) of Red Bull, had a disappointing sixth-place finish.
