Failed attempt at lane changing - Two individuals suffer severe injuries in a tree collision on a rural highway.
On a Monday night, a severe car crash took place in the regions of Eicha and Milz, under the administrative district of Hildburghausen. A Volkswagen driver (59 years old) was attempting to bypass several vehicles and a bus when his car mysteriously lost its grip on the road.
As mentioned by the police on Tuesday morning, the Volkswagen driver drove off to the left side of the road, collided with a bridge pillar, then a bus, and lastly, a tree by the side of the road.
Regrettably, the driver and his companion (38 years old) both sustained grave injuries in the accident and required hospitalization. Thankfully, the bus driver and his passengers remained unscheduled for any harm.
The road through Milz was entirely blocked off. A rescue helicopter was also dispatched to the scene. The cost of damage to property was estimated at 15,000 euros.
