Schellerten's headlines restated. - Two females aged 75 and 51 suffer severe injuries in a head-on collision.
A 75-year-old lady from Pein was operating her car towards Kemme when she suddenly drove into oncoming traffic. Unintentionally, she crashed into a 51-year-old driver who was going the opposite direction. Unfortunately, both women sustained critical injuries and were rushed to separate hospitals in Hildesheim.
To handle the situation efficiently, the Kemme and Schellerten fire departments were called in. Partnership with two ambulances and one emergency ambulance was also necessary. The road had to be completely shut down for further examination and road clean-up by a professional cleaning firm. The closure caused significant traffic disruptions due to the approaching Whitsun weekend and the initiation of rush-hour. Eventually, the vehicles became inoperable and were towed off the scene.
