What does it entail? - TV journalist donates bag of popcorn to Schröder

On Wednesday, the Basketball Lions Braunschweig suffered a defeat of 68-82 against European Cup champions Niners Chemnitz during the 33rd matchday of the Easycredit Basketball Bundesliga.

World champion and Löwen shareholder Dennis Schröder (30) was present at the event.

Unfortunately, his team struggled to secure a spot in the play-in games. However, the NBA star for Brooklyn Nets received a unique gift after the match.

TV reporter presents Schröder with a bag of popcorn

Following the loss, Schröder, who was delayed due to traffic, answered questions posed by Dyn reporter Fabrice Kao. Prior to the interview, Kao had a surprise for the DBB captain.

Kao: "We have him here - the world champion himself: Dennis Schröder. Here's a bag of popcorn for you, enjoy it."

Schröder couldn't help but laugh and thanked him for the quirky gift.

The situation arose after a comment Kao made during the Lions' game against Rostock the previous Sunday. Kao was providing commentary and noticed Schröder's ensemble, stating: "Dennis Schröder, here he is, looking very smart today. He's really dressed in GM style today. That's amazing! I'll have to pick up a few styling tips after the game."

Dyn shared the video clip of the match on its Instagram page. Schröder responded, asking: "GM style or owner style?"

He was referring to the fact that he is not the team's general manager (GM) but the main owner. Kao responded with a joke, saying: "haha, 1-0, bag of popcorn's on me."

The commentator upheld his end of the bargain during the interview with Schröder in Chemnitz...

He also obtained some sartorial advice and inquired about Schröder's view of his own outfit. Schröder smiled: "Nice, I'm celebrating."

Kao felt accomplished at the end of their lighthearted conversation: "I've accomplished everything in life with this. I can end my career now - style praise from the world champion himself, thank you very much."
