Anti-semitism recurring persistently. - TuS Makkabi seeks to utilize the field exclusively, but is denied permission.

The current location for the club is at the Julius Hirsch sports facility in the Charlottenburg area of Berlin, where SSC Charlottenburg also plays. In previous instances, there have been incidents of anti-Semitic riots at Makkabi matches. One notable occurrence in November 2022 involved A-juniors from Hertha 06 who displayed a Hitler salute and shouted derogatory comments.

Since October 7, the club has been receiving police protection for their matches due to these incidents. Now, the president of Makkabi Germany association, Alon Meyer, has raised concerns about a rise in anti-Semitism in the district sports committee. He further stated that the club no longer wants to share the facility with other teams due to several factors - security, infrastructure improvements, and better planning.

However, according to the Tagesspiegel report, SPD sports councillor Heike Schmitt-Schmelz has rejected the plan. She argues that Makkabi has a low membership count and can't justifiedly claim the whole premises for themselves. SSC Charlottenburg could potentially take legal action against this special use. Additionally, she pointed out the path to the tennis courts passes through the grounds, which could make it challenging for Makkabi to have exclusive use of the facility. A potential solution could be for the team to use the clubhouse separately in the future.
