From Cologne, 184 passengers are on board. - Tourist Plane Crashes in Turkey

On Thursday morning, a Corendon Airlines flight, identified as XC1031, departed from Cologne-Bonn Airport roughly 25 minutes past its scheduled time. The flight's destination was a popular tourist spot in Antalya, Turkey, known as Gazipasa Airport.

After a 3.20-hour journey, the 16-year-old Boeing plane with the registration number 9H-TJF safely landed on runway 08, as noted by the Aviation Herald aviation portal. However, upon landing, the tires on the nose gear shattered, causing the plane to roll over the nose wheel's edges and the main landing gear to drag across the runway.

The governor of Gazipasa district, Orhan Altun, relayed to the Turkish radio station TRT that everybody onboard had safely disembarked and remained uninjured. Altun also commended the pilots' proficient handling of the landing. The Turkish Ministry of Transport disclosed that the nose landing gear's structure was greatly damaged. Local authorities are currently examining why both tires ruptured during the landing.

On Wednesday, a Federal Express Boeing 767 cargo aircraft experienced an unfortunate landing in Istanbul. The pilots couldn't extend the front landing gear, so they had to make a landing on the fuselage. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident.

In a separate event on the same day, a Boeing 737 in Senegal encountered challenges while taking off from Dakar Airport. The plane veered off the runway, resulting in injuries to ten individuals, four of whom sustained severe injuries.

Persistent issues with Boeing

In recent times, there have been recurring issues concerning Boeing aircraft. In March 2019, worldwide flight bans were imposed on Boeing 737-MAX planes following two plane crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia with a combined death toll of more than 340. During January, part of the cabin wall behind the emergency exit on a Boeing 737 MAX operated by Alaska Airlines detached only six thousand feet into the air. As a result, a fresh flight ban was enacted.
