The storm proved too strong for it. - Toppled advertising sign leads to fatalities, claiming 14 lives.
In Mumbai, India, a massive advertising sign of 70 by 50 meters fell, leading to the death of at least 14 people. The billboard, which was not safely secured, could be seen wobbling in the wind before crashing down onto a petrol station and nearby buildings in the eastern suburb of Ghatkopar. This incident also resulted in several cars being smashed.
Reports from emergency services suggest that a few individuals are still trapped under the debris. "We have safely rescued over 80 people," an official stated to ANI. "There's a severely damaged red car. We assume some people might be inside."
Snapshots at the site exhibit rescue personnel examining the rubble. Intriguing footage shows emergency workers carefully pulling out a survivor from beneath the toppled billboard and hacking away at the metal with power tools.
