A 31-year-old pastor talks on Pentecost. - "Today, Jesus' followers would likely have Facebook accounts"
In Birkenau, Hesse, a Protestant clergyman stands firm on the foundation of the Gospel amidst our troubled world. He reflects on the Acts of the Apostles, recalling how the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples in the form of "tongues of fire." Suddenly, they were able to speak about Jesus' teachings in all languages.
"God is with us," he says, reminding us that He's always by our side. "Let's not pull away," he urges. "Withdrawing won't help. Even if it feels like you might get burned, like the tongues of fire."
"On Pentecost, 50 days after Easter, these disciples found comfort in knowing that God wasn't just residing in heaven," the pastor shares. "They saw Him as close by. Let's not leave Him behind! Let's step up and tackle the world's challenges."
The "Spirit of God" can empower us, too, during these crisis-filled times marked by wars, personal struggles, and uncertainty. "The Spirit inspires us, giving us hope and a push through life's uncertainties," the pastor believes.
"Perhaps the disciples might've been vilified online in today's world. People might've accused them of being insane or inebriated because they could suddenly speak in multiple languages," he continues. "But the disciples proclaimed God's word. It's still relevant."
The pastor also adds that Pentecost is a time for family relaxation. Check out these activities you can indulge in during that period. link
