Switch in Goalkeeper Secured - Tim Schreiber, victor in Bayern, joins Dresden's team.
Hailing from Freital, Tim Schreiber has been borrowed this season by Saarbrücken and his previous contract with Leipzig was set to last until 2024 - but that has now expired. As a result, the goalkeeper will make a permanent move to Dresden, with the parties in agreement to keep the transfer fee confidential.
Schreiber expressed his excitement about his switch: "I'm really looking forward to my experience in Dresden. The club means a lot to me, it's not just because of where I'm from. My childhood days at the Rudolf Harbig Stadium were always a thrill, as a young admirer and eventually as a player. My family is also heavily associated with black and yellow."
David Fischer, Managing Director, spoke about the new acquisition: "We have managed to recruit a highly talented goalkeeper for our organization that has drawn interest from several clubs. Despite his young age, Tim has a decent record of games under his belt in the 3rd division and 2nd Bundesliga. Given his residency in Freital and his lifetime attachment to the team, he's a perfect fit for us."
Tim Schreiber's journey from Hainsberger SV, now known as SC Freital, took him through SGD, Borea Dresden, and RB Leipzig, where he made the transition to professional soccer. In recent times, he has been loaned out to Halle, Holstein Kiel, and Saarbrücken, appearing in 10 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and 49 matches in the third tier.
In his time with Freital, Schreiber made a name for himself with astonishing performances, especially in the DFB Cup, where he led the team to the semifinals and notably eliminated FC Bayern Munich. He's hoping that Dynamo Dresden will advance in the DFB Cup qualifiers, granting him the opportunity to craft another captivating cup story with his new team.
