One-day Testimony Prior to the Germany Tilt - Thomas Müller facing trial during European Championship
The Incident: In the Champions League game between FC Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona on September 13, 2022, a surreptitious alarm sounded at Thomas Muller's abode. It's presumed that two burglars had infiltrated Muller's house in Otterfing, Miesbach, Bavaria while he played. Upon the cops' arrival, the thieves had skedaddled.
The thieves pilfered a sum of 16 exquisite watches. These hijackers made off with watches from respectable labels, namely Patek Philippe and Rolex.
Stolen watch collection is estimated to be over half a million euros
► The most precious pieces: A "Nautilus Steel Automatic" (approximately 100,000 euros), alongside a "Nautilus 18K White Gold" and a "Aquanaut 18K Rose Gold Automatic" (both approximately 120,000 euros).
The cops initially believed the loss to be 500,000 euros. But with the increasing market prices of the watches, it could be significantly more.
In the middle of June, the trial against the arrested suspect Nove N. (25), who was captured and delivered from Portugal in summer 2023, commences. Recently, N. has been kept in pre-trial detention at Stadelheim Prison in Munich, waiting for his day in court.
National Court spokesperson Bettina Kaestner clarified via request: "The proceedings are now set in the 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Munich II District Court." Three trial days have been designated: the 18th, the 25th, and the 26th of June.
During one of these dates, possible witness Thomas Muller could be subpoenaed. Even though the European Football Championship was underway, Muller, the FC Bayern Munich talent, might be required to testify, per the court. Lisa Muller, Thomas' wife, could also be summoned. However, if Nove N.'s defense amends their attendance, Muller might be spared attending the trial.
